Trustee Vacancies

The Robert Carre Trust is one of the smaller Multi Academy Trusts, comprising two single-sex, selective schools and a Joint Sixth Form arrangement. As such we face special challenges, not least in the current financial situation across the whole sector, but also in meeting our plans to cultivate a range of high-quality provision which supports our students to achieve their full potential through clear progression pathways from primary to secondary school and into further and higher education, apprenticeships and employment, with training across the community. We are currently looking for forward-thinking energetic Trustees to join our Board. Experience of working in the sector would be welcome but we would also value evidence of financial acumen and an appreciation of Curriculum, Safeguarding, Special Educational Needs and Diversity issues within schools. The Board meets around 6 times a year, plus committee meetings, and Trustees are expected to keep in touch with the schools in between, taking on monitoring roles, liaising with their counterparts on the Local Governance Tiers and the lead professionals in the schools. Sector-specific training is provided. We are also looking for people to take on Community Governor roles in each school’s Local Governance Tier and would welcome your interest in those positions too.

For more information about the Trust, its schools and its governance structure, please see  www.robertcarretrust.uk or contact the Chair.

Applications, with current CVs, should be sent to the Governance Professional.
